Oahu vs Maui vs other islands (to live, restaurants, price)

To all visitors who are looking to live here:

Perhaps this will make it easier to figure out which island is best suited for you.


OAHU is for someone who wants easy access to everything and enjoys a variety and abundance of social venues, entertainment, nightlife, restaurants, cultural activities, and outdoor activities. The price to pay is the heavy traffic.

MAUI is for someone who knows that while not offering Oahu's abundance and variation in terms of shopping, eating out, and entertainment or social life, Maui offers some of that PLUS big open spaces, plenty of outdoor activities and nature. Both civilization and non-civilization are accessible. Price to pay: can be expensive.

KAUAI is for someone who just wants to get away from it all.

BIG ISLAND, I've never been there, but suspect it is a place where you can easily find a getaway place, or where you can be close to civilization.
