I did not answer but allow me to tell a real life story.
My wife was (retired now) a professional in the medical field. Her Mom assumed my wife knew it all when it came to medical plans as did her sister, brother, etc. They all asked her to check them out. She went about it. Spread sheeted it. Read it all. Talked to people in the field she knew including some top level people, etc.
Her bottom line answer was it is a "cluster fuc%" out there. The best plan for a specific person depends on their specific needs. No one answer fit all. She also said that people needed to stay on top of it as the best plan for someone today, might not be the best plan for them in a years time.
In 2012 for the people with a standardized Medigap policy, by far most people had Plan F at 53% of the Medigap standardized plan market, and the second most popular plan was Plan C at 13%.

You do know what Medicare type insurance plan you have, don't you?
I'm 67 and have the equivalent of a Plan N without any deductibles or copays and unlimited prescription benefits with minor copays. This is all thanks to my retirement benefits which also reimburse me for the Part B premium. If offered I would have voted "Other."

LOL! More like a Plan F I guess. Whatever it's like it so far covers everything. I'm guessing ObamaCare would consider it a Cadillac plan so I'm waiting to see if the federal gubmint screws things up for us.

I have an Advantage plan and just changed to a new one last week. I have lower co pays and my out of pocket is less than the other plan. I was notified that it had gone from $4,760 to $6,000. The new plan is $4,000.
We are researching, so confusing. They push the Advantage plans at the insurer's website, you really have to poke around to find the Medigap plans. I hate it.
I have none and have no intention of ever getting one
