Glad to hear that some of the senators who voted for this heard from their constituents....and those people were not happy.
Sen. Dean Heller votes to debate Obamacare repeal bill, and Nevadans give him an earful - LA Times

What I find very strange is even if we give the Republican's the benefit of the doubt and they believe they are offering a good alternative plan to Obamacare. When every doctor and health organization in America is against that plan, shouldn't that mean something ? All the experts are against them. Do they think they are smarter than the experts ?

Ultimately it doesn't mean anything to them - so in turn we know - or at least should know - they truly do not care.

Someone in the comment section of that LA Times article actually referenced Matthew 25:31-46 which is an excellent series of verses which greatly apply to this situation.

I am not a fan of religion, but sometimes the Bible really nails it.

They know that they're not offering a good alternative to the ACA, and they don't care. They have their own coverage. And the 22 million people who will be left without health care coverage are apparently not important enough to them in regard to votes. Their sole interest is cutting the federal budget.

Yea I agree, but going against all the experts in the field of medicine says a lot IMO.

Their sole interest is tax cuts for rich people. The Fed budget is not a concern at all to them, just look at the wars and military spending. If they cared those would be the first budget items cut.

The one good thing about this fiasco IMO - universal healthcare is now inevitable. It's only a matter of time, but I do think the current insurance companies will be involved somehow and someway.

OR it could be the impetus toward single payer either nationally or via the state. Face it, no one cares about those buying individual policies, but hitting those with employee provided coverage might cause a groundswell of support for single payer.

For years we heard the individual pool is too old and sick, young people weren't buying into it because the penalty for being uninsured was too low. Now all of a sudden there will be some calamity removing an ineffective personal mandate? I wish the "experts" could get their story straight.

Will the Republicans ever go for Single Payer? I can't see it happening for awhile. CA just floated a single payer bill but it didn't stand a chance, apparently.
Single payer can't happen in California. At least, not right away - LA Times

But then they'd have employers screaming about lost tax write offs.

Eliminate the tax write off for companies as part of corporate tax reform to lower over all corporate rates and we will almost be to single payer. Separate the employer insurance connection. Isn'the that what Democrats want or is that just bs too? California had way too generous benefits as part of their single payer proposal: No deductibles, crazy benefits. Wasn't realistic.

Keeping Obamacare unchanged just perpetuates a failing system.
