If you have a Plan F your office visit should cost NOTHING. If you see Dr 2-3+ times a year still costs NOTHING. Premium only went up $9.00 this year.
He has a HIGH DEDUCTIBLE Plan F (not a full Medigap F) - he pays 20% until deductible is reached.

Under the high-deductible plan, JRR pays annual premium of $540 ($45 mo.) plus his 20% of services - let's say $400/year (on the high side) - which makes his total annual cost $940 -

versus

the annual premium for Plan F of at last $1,800/year - depending on age and state. If older, that premium will be at least $2600/year.

So, JRR is saving, at minimum $860/year.

In addition, Plan F premiums will increase at a greater rate than the HD plans. JRR reports $1/mo., versus your increase of $9.

For the healthy, HD plans are far more cost-effective and become more so with age.

And, there is a point in time, no matter your health, in certain states it makes no sense to buy a full Medigap, because the HD premium plus deductible total LESS than premium for a full Medigap F/G - with absolutely no difference in overall coverage.
