It's probably the Metformin

from Wicki.........

The most common adverse effect of metformin is gastrointestinal upset, including diarrhea, cramps, nausea, vomiting and increased flatulence; metformin is more commonly associated with gastrointestinal side effects than most other antidiabetic drugs.[17] The most serious potential side effect of metformin use is lactic acidosis; this complication is very rare, and the vast majority of these cases seem to be related to comorbid conditions, such as impaired liver or kidney function, rather than to the metformin itself.[51]

Default got it and thanks

but i started off with metf 500 mg 3 years ago and increased to 1000 mg per day, then 1000 mg 2x per day last summer

is it possible it could start disagreeing with me now even tho i've been on it for 3 years?

I doubt it. Did you buy a new car or get some new furniture lately? the increased formaldehyde off-gassing from these items may cause the same effects as Metformin.

One more thought. A liver metabolite of sugar, carbs or alcohol is formaldehyde so if you have begun to eat or dring something high in sugar this may cause a change in G.I. "activity".
