Hi guys,

Basically, this morning he was urinating blood. He said he was fine yesterday, but it's just become apparent this morning. He has been to the doctors and she told him that he needs to fill up two sample bottles (one for the morning, and for the evening) then bring them back into the doctors so they can be sent for examination. She also wants to send him to the hospital to test for prostate cancer. She told him that the test results will be back within 2 weeks.

The issue now is, he is feeling very light headed like he's going to pass out. Is this due to the loss of blood he is experiencing or something else? I am becoming a little concerned, but as he's seen the doctor, i'm not sure what else can be done without him getting visibly progressively worse. One other thing, he seems to be sweating too.

I don't know what to do because he isn't in a bad way, but he's just getting sweats and feels light headed/dizzy. He is lying down now, but it's a little bit worrisome.

Call the Doctor and advise them of these new symptoms and ask to be seen on an Emergency basis today or take him to the Emergency Room immediately.

He said he feels okay now, so i'm assuming that it's the loss of blood that is making him dizzy, you know, similar to when you get blood taken and feel light headed shortly afterwards. He is drinking lots of water and I will monitor him to make sure he's okay, but for now he seems stable and not sweating any more either.

^^ This.

At first glance, it sounds like a possible kidney stone (that he may have partially passed) or a urinary tract infection.

That's what I was thinking too.

A UTI can be pretty serious in an older person. If he's seen the doctor today and described the dizziness and sweating, then I would follow the doctor's advice, but if the dizziness and sweating are new symptoms since the doctor visit, I would call the doctor and ask what to do.

Could also be an unrelated heart attack or other cardiac event. ER now.

Unless he peed buckets of dark red blood, it wasn't en [ugh to make him dizzy.
