The GBD doesn't work for three reasons. The vaccines are already being deployed. If enough people get it, the herd immunity will be achieved. The second is that if everyone was to get infected intentionally in a short period of time the hospitals would be swamped and many more will die than necessary due to lack of beds, medications, and medical attention. About 20 percent of the infected would need hospitalization. That's about 70 million patients for which there are only 1 million hospital beds, most of which are not ICU beds. Lastly, trying to achieve herd immunity will take too long to achieve the 70 percent of the population and cause too many deaths. It will take nearly 15 years at the rate the population is getting infected with Covid-19 They would have to forcibly inject people with the virus, which is strange coming from a .conspiracy group claiming this is all an attempt by the government to exert control over the public.

This is garbage. Every one of the so called experts know that the vaccines are either here or will be soon

The mistake was last Jan-Feb when there wasn't an international shut down to stop the ajor spread before it started

Look at how the numbers are drastically increasing because idiots want to travel and spread the plague

It's too late for the Barrington approach. It was tried in Britain, Sweden, and other countries. They've all had spikes in deaths and lockdowns followed. If you go that route this late, you have to prepared for the likelihood that the relaxation of restrictions will have to be canceled and lockdowns will return. It is not a choice where you just go down that route and let things fall as they may as others have found it. They're also late with the observation that the vulnerable need to be protected. The nursing homes have been lockdowns since the first wave of the crisis. Unless they're recommending forcibly institutionalizing all of the elderly and those with respiratory conditions, they're going to be essentially unprotected and exposed to a lot more infected people than they are now. Over 95 percent of the elderly here live outside facility arrangements.

COVID-19 still has unknown long-term effects which the treatment is not proven to prevent. And on top of that, allowing the virus to run freely would overwhelm the medical system to the point that people would not even be able to receive the treatment in time for it to be of significant benefit.

TL;DR No, no, and no!
Fairly large study in Argentina says otherwise.

Quote:
Three months ago, the protocol was extended and 1,200 health care workers were involved in total. Some 800 received the preventive protocol and another 400 did not, but only because they personally chose not to adhere to the protocol. Regardless, they agreed to be considered purely for comparison purposes. In this group of 400, there were 252 contagions – more than half – while the group of 800 had zero contagion.
Sadly, the article is from October and still not approved to this day...

More discussion on IVM at the Senate hearing with Dr. Kory who pleads for its approval.
