I'm not sure how that's even a debate. Of course they were men with warts and all. A perfect man has never lived. What the Founding Fathers should be given credit for is leadership, both intellectually and practically, that helped give birth to this nation. That doesn't make them demigods, but important men who deserve respect.

Agreed. Perhaps some of that is that the "Virginia junta" which had the presidency for so long was of the party. The peaceful transfer of power, keeping us out of war, kept the infant nation intact.
