Milwaukee? NY Islanders of Brooklyn! With the new arena, players will be more inclined to sign on now especially with a 20+ year deal for the Barclay Center. Now we just have to get the owners to drop some more $$$ into future payroll so we can bring in some GOAL-SCORERS !!!

I think Barclays will be a good home for the Islanders.

While there are some bad seats, I think so as well.

It would be a better home if the organization were willing to rebrand in some fashion to cater more towards the locals, though. It feels, at least to me, as though they're a Nassau County team that intends to play in Kings County. They haven't announced any logo changes or jersey changes to incorporate Brooklyn into their identity. (The map in their logo only consists of Nassau and Suffolk).

Isles trade Moulson and 1st and 2nd round picks to Buffalo for Vanek.

Bad move by Garth IMO. Overpaid big time for someone who will just be a rental.

As a Sabres fan I am happy with this trade. However, I certainly don't understand it.Vanek is a 2 time 40 goal scorer, but since he has not topped 40 since 08-09, I would not consider him one any more. Statistically, they appear interchangeable. Since 09, Moulson is 120G 102A 222P, and is -10 overall. Vanek is 110G 127A 237P and is -1. Granted, Vanek has not had a center over that span and could perform much better with one. Still, adding two high picks on top of Moulson seems like a high price to basically swap forwards of similar offensive stats and both on contract years.

Vanek has proven that he is way more interested in free agency and having his ego stroked with huge numbers, so he shot down our lucrative extension talks. Hopefully Garth will trade his ungrateful a$$ soon!

I don't blame Vanek. Make as much money as you can, while giving yourself a chance to win a cup. Isles have almost no chance of winning a cup in the years Vanek has left.

It has been proven in the past that if you have a solid #1 goaltender, you can go far. Unfortunately our goaltending this year has been a little shaky. The Islanders have a soli "young" core that can be a dynasty team if they can bring in a few pieces. They just have to be willing to open the checkbook.
