Brendan Witt old school Defenseman
Brendan Shanahan has lost a step, but still a great leader amd team player
Martin Brodeur still a money goalie after all these years

Newer players:
Dan Girardi steady on the blue line
Zach Parise some set of wheels on him
Rick DiPietro makes a game exciting ( in good and bad ways when he handles the puck!)

Current or past?

Shanahan and Chelios hold a high respect from me. But my all time favorite retired. Stevie Y.

Vinny Lecevalier is #1.

Peter Forsberg used to be my favorite a few years ago (maybe like 10 years ago now).

Brodeur is a God, but John Madden was the hero Sunday night.
So one vote for Mad Dog!
