That is true to a point...but a home that is truly a home that is well loved and lived in, and one that has some sentimental momentos as part of the "decor" there is at least a need to edit.
I cringe when I see the HGTV shows with perfectly stylized rooms- all store bought by a designer. The homeowner has no connection. That's not a home to me and I'm sure many others who view their home and decor as an extension of themselves.
I think of that show Frasier. The perfectly decorated apartment but the father had his lousy old chair that he would not part with that stuck out like a sore thumb. LOL I think we all have a piece that we should part with (or at least put away when we show the house). Mine is the chair my mom tole painted for me and had waiting for me after my first day of kindergarten.
