I have a large 4' x 4' abstract '70's canvas painting by Lee Reynolds. Fun. It doesn't match anything in my room but I don't really pick art that way.

For years we had our bed under a sloped ceiling. I put a very long, leather whip on the slope, above the head of the bed. To complete the effect, I added a pair of handcuffs to one of the headboard posts. You should have seen the look on people's faces when they were given the grand tour of the house.

We have a large framed print of one of my favorite paintings which I bought many years ago - Monet's Garden at Sainte - Adresse.

I saw the original on loan at the Philadelphia Museum of Art years later. I sat there for a good 20 minutes soaking it in before my DH dragged me away. It was just so beautiful.

I was similarly moved by Van Gogh's Wheat Fields after the Rain at the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh.

Here in California, nothing! Or at least nothing heavier than a couple of ounces.

Another beautiful painting with a gorgeous color pallete. I can fully understand what attracted you so to this painting. Van Gogh's brushwork alone draws a person in. You can almost feel the intensity of his emotions.

I would have a painting, but now there is a big window behind the bed.

That would be so odd to not have something over the bed, but in earthquake areas I understand. Was there in one and woke up to the antique mirror vanity swaying over us. Thought for sure we were a goner as it was one of those really heavy large mirrors. Freaky. Glad we don't have that here, just freezing -30. But that doesn't interfere with decorating too much.

I currently have a large grape vine wreath filled with dried and silk flowers that matches the scheme of our bedroom and bedding.

LOLOLOLOLOL This is great. Now you just have to have a hidden camera to record their faces then post the video on YouTube for us all to enjoy. Great post!
