Thanks, I already know what it looks like.
When confronted my sterile kitchens with that look, I always recommend that the client change the counter top.

We used Bianco Romano which is a gray and white granite, in our slab there is also some maroon and black speckling and a golden tan swirl in it. I love it, we have white cabinets and then black cabinets on the island, stainless steel appliances and gold walls. It picks up all the colors, the only problem is with the colors in it you have to almost run your hand over the top of the granite otherwise you might miss something in the cleanup as food crumbs blend into the pattern.
