I've been looking at a LOT of homes online for over 18 months. I'm amazed at how many homes don't have window coverings and the homes look just fine online. In fact, the pictures look better than those with awful window coverings that aren't pulled back.

So my thought is, take everything off the window, don't spend a dime, and just clean them really good. Leave it up to the buyers to find their own window coverings.

That's a thought, if you do put your house on the market.

??

Seems like quite the stretch given the OP's question.

Window treatments almost always turn me off in a listing. That's just me. I prefer to see bare windows.

I just sold a house with zero window treatments. I hadn't lived in the house for 5 years prior, and it still had the black-pipe-as-curtain-rods from my short-lived industrial phase. For the house to go to market, I had the painters take down the pipe and patch the sheetrock, hired a window cleaner, and and just left everything blank and fresh. It looked much better! If your blinds don't 'add' to the presentation in a lovely way, let them go and let sunlight sparkle in instead.

That was for selling! In the meantime, I like your idea of repairing/rejuventating them for your own enjoyment.
