I have had many problems with Moen faucets. Bought one with a pull out spray head for our new kitchen remodel in a house we owned many years back. Within the first month I had to have the spray handle replaced twice. CS replaced them fine, but they should work for the first time brand new out of the carton. It never did work right but I lived with it as it was too expensive to replace again. Had our last 2 houses built and they used Moen in both of them and they are pieces of junk. Plastic pieces falling off them, not working right and finish going bad. Have already replaced the kitchen with a Delta and looking to replace all 4 bathroom units soon probably with Delta. Give me Delta or Pfister anytime over Moen junk.
I have had way better experiences with Moen than Delta. We have had a Delta In2Ition showerhead that its holder clip broke, and my grandfather's Delta Foundations bathroom faucet cracked when attempting to remove the aerator. We replaced the showerhead under warranty, but replaced my grandfather's Delta faucet with a Moen Adler.
I replaced Moen and Kohler cartridges, using lifetime both times. In both cases, I had to figure out first, what exactly is that I need, what is rather daunting task on older houses. In both cases, I did so for houses not being the original owner. I do not recall, if I was even asked that. House we live in, I had two cartridges for shower and one for bathroom faucet replaced. Gal simply asked asked, how many shower handles we have, we do have 4, it's a large shower with all kinds of heads and ceiling piece.
As I said - no problems.
Pretty much all warranties are for parts only. That's just the way it is. Consumers agree to those terms when they buy the product. Moen is hardly top of the line product, and their warranty seems pretty clear. Original purchaser only. Normal wear and tear. Proper installation.
Not sure what 'rust issues' mean but I can't think of a scenario that would be covered by warranty (i.e., proper installation and maintenance).
