I have been using a basic Cuisinart 4 cup coffeemaker for the last 3-4 years. Received it as a gift. It's probably the most basic model that Cuisinart made at that time. Just a simple on/off switch. No extra controls or features.
Since I only drink coffee in the morning, and am satisfied with 2 cups per day, this coffeemaker suits my needs. And, I like that fact that it has a metal carafe, which keeps the coffee hotter.
Again my main reason for a Keurig is I usually drink 3 cups of coffee in the morning. Each one a different flavor. Espresso type first (9 on a 10 scale). Less strong for 2nd (5 on a 10 scale), and flavored (2-3 on a 10 scale) for the las, then I am ready to face the day. Keurig easily allows for that.
As I go out for breakfast 3-4 mornings a week, the convenience of one cup then out works with a Keurig.
Yes there are better machines if one wants 3-4 cups of the same.
the ninja does 1 cup at a time along with single cup special brews . night and day difference to our keurig in taste. it can also do larger size single cups and travel mugs . it is far cheaper per serving too since it uses regular coffee , not those expensive pods
