I'm Jewish, and my husband is Catholic. I decorate the outside of our house with white lights with occasionally some color on the trees. I really like classy, tasteful xmas decor. (Plus, our dog is afraid of the big inflatable dog a few houses up the street, so not really a fan of those things.)

I hate houses where it looks like they bought anything and everything they could find to put on their front lawn. Looks like a garage sale for xmas items.

Things with a strong fake scent in an enclosed space. I have a friend who I swear is trying to poison us all with faux pine, cinnamon and vanilla when we walk into the house.

You know those "cinnamon pine cones" that some stores sell (generally out of a bin just outside the store)? Imagine those in a small room. With bows.

I really dislike plastic soldiers, or anything else plastic. I can't stand a lawn full of blow up characters and scenes with flood lights. It's so tacky. There are people in our village that use their large skeletons from Halloween and have them set up like they're decorating a Christmas tree. The skeleton dogs are pulling a sled and the skeleton cat is under the tree. They all have Santa hats on. It's adorable and so unique. I love it!

There is a house a few blocks away that literally has 30 plastic snowmen on the lawn of all different variations. It just looks like a mess. No rhyme or reason to it.

You know what I hate? Houses that DON"T decorate. I wish my whole street did.
Well, it's kind of hard to decorate my house as I'm Jewish. I have my candle-lit menorah inside, but I do put my electric menorah in the window during Hanukkah. I sometimes wonder if my neighbors know what it is. They probably think it's a strange window light that I only have on display for a short while, lol.

No thanks, I dont do high ladders and it'll take a very long pole to reach the crown of mature live oaks. Too much for me..

They usually look bad because they're all deflated! I always wonder if it's because they are so cheap...or because of the cold air, or because someone just hated them so much they took the air out on purpose!
