So, the straight forward answer is: yes.
It’s one of the most toxic materials that most people have against their skin on a daily basis.

Polyester is a synthetic material which has many toxic chemicals embedded in it.
Synthetic materials such as acrylic, nylon, and polyester are made from chemicals such as thermoplastic, which outgas plastic molecules whenever they are heated.
Cotton polyester blends are often treated with formaldehyde. And also, softened with chemicals such as ammonia. Sounds cozy?

How does this affect your life?
Well, in many ways...

Simple:

Last three words in the quoted .

Another thread solved in exactly 3 words... where do idiotic topics come from , it's patently obvious why the finer things in life cost what they do most of the time. Wrapped up in some ghetto wool blanket , living in a Third World yurt convince yourself that feels just great at midnight. I spend one third of my life sleeping , you can bet it's gonna be in style .

"What am I missing?"
well, not your money.
"What's the difference how they feel if I'm sleeping?"
none.
the apparent difference is noticed attempting sleep.

The sheets I bought at Costco were just thin muslin, and I did not think much of them. The fabric was better suited for a nightgown.

I used them for awhile, but got rid of them after a few months.

Deriving information from websites selling competing products is not a generally good practice.

I've got a lot of other things I fear more than fleece sheets!

I love them. Comfiest sheets I've ever owned. They're really warm in winter.

We switch to cotton thin ones for summer.

I mean, considering that many spend up to a third of their lives in their beds, I don't think that a few hundred dollars on quality bedding is too much.

I was ironing the pillowcases for a while but they seem to get less wrinkly the more I wash them.
Was just about to mention Shabby Chic brand. I bought a 100% cotton set for about $25.00 around the same time as I purchased a linen set for over $300.00 on sale. Surprisingly, though the Shabby Chic set is very thin, it has to be one of the best feeling sheets I have ever used. They remind me of sheets from when I was a child.) I love both sets. I’m really all about my bedroom being a place of maximum comfort and tranquility... a sanctuary. I don’t care as much about the price, inexpensive or higher end. I require natural fibers and a good thread count. The feel must be right for me. Some feminine detailing is also a factor as I do favor embroidery...I never even consider anything like microfiber or any other synthetic, ugh!

I've always bought 100% cotton percale 200 thread count but for a long time I've had a hard time finding any in the stores.

I always look in thrift stores just in case someone had a nice set of sheets and barely used them. I got lucky a few times. Recently I found a set of Ralph Lauren sheets and they are as nice as I remember sheets used to be.

I like them crisp but soft. Will look back at the first page of this thread because someone gave information on where you can still buy decent sheets, I think. I will never, ever buy polyester blend sheets--plasticy sheets against your skin for 8 hours straight? I won't pay hundreds of $$ either--I am not rich and sheets shouldn't have to be that expensive.

It's common knowledge. If she didn't quote that site it would have been another site. Polyester against your skin isn't too good. The chemicals too--I once bought some sheets that I couldn't use even after several washings because they made me itch so much. Yes, they are treated with some nasty chemicals and you don't want that on your skin or to be breathing it in either. We wonder why there is so much cancer--well, it all adds up, little by little.
