Agreed, I'm 32 and don't expect to see this in my lifetime either...

The purple lines are already existing park and rides. Really, what is there to be skeptical about?

the price tag for one. i was reading up on it last night, only 1.3 billion? i doubt that.

plus, once people hear about it and see its coming thru their neighborhood and causing them a hassle, they will sue, holding it up for quite a while.

Too bad the suing crap has already happened. METRO is moving forward now. The people trying to sue have no case. And just about everyone who was watching the news when METRO announced this in mid-October knows about it. It is no secret. I think it was even on the front page of the Chron.

They are not going to have any of this done by the year 2100, let alone 2012!!! Light rail is a joke anyway. Houston does not have public transportation, it is has buses for its second class citizens who cannot afford a car and live inside the city. First class citizens live outside houston and drive a car everyday.

Tell that to all the medical center workers who have to use it (including me) because parking there is non-existant (or too expensive). I love the rail, it's a lifesaver for me.
