The Democrats are loving the government shut-down because they are trying to make it as painful for the American people as possible in the hopes it would make the Republicans look bad. They must not have spent all that much time on their political calculations because turning away WWII vets from an outdoor memorial and denying death benefits to the families of fallen servicemembers hasn't exactly endeared them to the public.

I still think the Republicans were foolish for not wanting Americans to experience firsthand the pleasures of the Obamacare they voted for. but that's a separate argument.

While I think both parties are to blame, the GOP is clearly the more stubborn one. Democrats compromise their beliefs all the time.

Here's one. Republicans are now opening their arms to Latinos (and their votes).

Y'all need to backup and remember Houston's history.

Time was when many thought the only difference between liberals and conservatives was the liberals thought minorities should have the right to vote without paying a poll tax.

Not much has change except 50 years of carpet bagging Republican voting oil field trash from New Jersey.
