3rd and hopefully the last loop (supposed to be 181 miles around).

yes.....they cut most of the lights on last night.....looks different from 290 as it lightens the area up big-time

sucks though if you live on the new segment from 290 to I-45 as the Parkway literally runs feet from some houses that just were built in Fairfield

Seriously? Hope they have good sound barriers. Sucks big time for them.

290 to I45 is slated to open late 2014 to help with the new Exxon campus, I don't think this will affect the beltway tolls in any way.

Of course it will but these people all bought homes knowing (or should have known) that there was a huge power line and highway easement in their backyard. It's hard to feel sorry for people who didn't pay attention during the buying process.

True that they should have known. I guess depends on when they bought it. Was there any opposition from them? Or did TxDOT propose different routes?

They should have known, but there will be those that did not pay attention. When the sales people were showing us the new section (and I saw how close it was going to be to 99), I started re-directing people to Bridgeland. It was just too close - and a sound barrier is only so good. There will be a traffic roar and it will affect re-sale on those too close.
