Soon, they won't be a suburbs any more than the once suburban Brooklyn is to New York.

Clear Lake was annexed 25ish years ago (Whitmire era). There hasn't been a new house built in my zip code (77062) for 10-11 years, and we live in the newest part of Clear Lake. The development is solid from Fuqua down to Webster and League City. There are holes such as the toxic waste site (Dixie Brio), Friendswood oil fields, areas around Ellington, and the defunct golf course. There is very little grazing/brush areas left, but otherwise Clear Lake was finished with growing awhile ago.

Now Kingwood is more in your area. Dunno how that will go down eventually.

Give it time. We haven't been given any reason to believe development will change the face of Clear Lake. We both know that Houston has a habit of tearing down things. Besides, you would think that residents of CLC would be happy to claim that they're part of the city.

If Houston annexes Lufkin, is it in your area because it's the "NE side?"

No, but some things mpope puts into these boards would make an outsider think Houston is nothing but a big Lufkin.

People can search for your posts here to find that. Your perspective is simply from the relatively unpopulated, more heavily wooded NE side of town. It is a rather unique, atypical side of town compared to where the majority of people live in the metro area. Hence my comments "unique and interesting". I'm not like wysiwyg and simply say "bad," because I have never lived there and have only ventured a few times.

I wouldn't say that's my perspective. It's just that I favor North Houston period. NW, Kingwood, Greenspoint, Deerbrook, Scenic Woods. But I don't live in the area.
