Actually, this is Katy:

....

You get the idea. Perhaps you have some of these scenic establishments in your area.

I will be going there in two weeks.
Every year, around April, there will be a huge bike rally that meet around Katy, Cinco Ranch and all over I 10.
They take over half the roadway, make sure you give them space and you ll be ok

Those same bikers may live in your neighborhood and they only multiply.

I wish you luck.

I am interested in moving my family to this area as well, from the mid-atlantic area. But if everybody is as jaded and as condescending as most in this this group I believe we will look elsewhere. OP asked a reasonable innocent question and the ignorant smart ass bs that ensued is totally unnecessary.

We aren't all so bad. I am from the mid-Atlantic (Maryland), and so is my husband (Pennsylvania), and we have been here 11 years. We don't live in Katy, but close enough. It is a fine place to raise a family, and dare I say it, but I like it better here than the mid Atlantic. In my day to day life, people here are just nicer, the pace is slower, and it is generally more pleasant. Don't let the ignorance and condescending people get to you. If you are a miserable person, it will show.

I appreciate your response and do not mean to high-jack this thread from OP but your response is very helpful, thanks. I am in Delaware about 20 min from Philly, between Wilmington and Chester things have gotten too violent around here for my wife and young son (plus another on the way). I have a very good friend who lives in Tomball right on the edge of Cypress who has literally convinced us to move to the area. Katy seems awful nice to me compared to this area but I guess opinions vary depending on where you are from.

Katy is nice compared to the area you are from. Driving up I-95 from Baltimore to Philly while my husband and I were dating, I am familiar with your part of Delaware. If you can get a job lined up out here, I would make the move for sure.

i like being a smart ass to dummies, if you can't figure it out. You re the dummy.

So asking people on the Internet, what's it like to live in place 1500 miles away. Who's ignorant here?
