There is no information by metro area and the information is not well documented. Its impossible to do an apples to apples comparison with those links because the years arent the same.

Try out data.census.gov.

Chicago is very nice and diverse. I think the only thing people have put against it is being segregated

I knew it would come up. You failed by not using metro. Endless battle in these threads. Then the ole CSA push.
You use sources as you find them. This is not a lower pop. city-proper vs another. The pop. is close. Many boast how Houston is almost overtaking Chicago. What do they use? City-proper.

Sorry, that source was useless for you.

No one in real life brags about Houston overtaking Chicago. Most people who live here like Chicago and dont have bad things to say about it and honestly most Chicago people Ive talked to have had nothing but nice things about Houston.

Ive live in both cities. I love both cities. They are too different to compare that way and almost everyone in real life knows that.

If were comparing the two, Chicago is definitely more world class. Houston is more diverse. Of course Im using metro stats for my conclusions and not just the city. That does factor into being world class. For example if we only considered the city of Los Angeles, theres no way it would be world class. But when we add the South Bay, Santa Monica, Venice, etc. it really comes out.

No need to be rude or do you always get so worked up defending Houston?
AASB is the resident demographics statistician in the Houston forum, and perhaps all of C-D! Don’t mess with his numbers! He is hardly a Houston booster. One of the most objective posters on this site.

Question is why do you have it in for Houston? Did you have a bad experience here?

I'm not sure why anyone would think I would be envious of Houston's diversity as I don't think that's important to my day to day life and I even moved away to a less diverse city.
You do have to admit that many Houston based posters like to brag about its diversity. It's hard to find a thread more than 2 pages long where someone didn't bring it up without good reason. With NYC, LA or Chicago posters they seem to just accept the diversity as a given and had no need to repeat that every chance they get. And there definitely are still people here who say they live in the most diverse city in the nation.

How did you think I was messing with his numbers? I just said I wasn't doubting his analysis. I even used his numbers to make my point.
I already gave my personal take on how Houston ranks in terms of being world class where I listed my own take on its pro and con. I lived there for twenty years and had both good and bad experiences like anyone else. Of course if you think Houston is perfect then we're going to disagree.

ask yourself. You were the one passionately trying to debunk it.

I dislike complacency or bragging of any kind. This is far from the only thing I tried to debunk, even in this thread, and it's not always against Houston.
