What are some of the other cities that you find to be more interesting than Houston? Aside from LA, Chicago, Portland and maybe a couple others it's generally not that easy to go out and run into fun things and people in most cities.

My personal interest and Houston's offerings don't align that well but I think Houston is big enough to have something for anyone.

Highly subjective poll. Too hard to measure a quality like that.

Houston metro is one of the fastest growing areas in the US. Look it up if you don't believe me. article link

I see someone daily who was born and raised in Karachi and also lived in New Jersey. He loves NYC, but he does not find Houston boring.

Well..it is NOT cheap anymore.

Like any other big city...it is as fun or boring as YOU make it.

I tend to be a person that seeks out fun and different things, so I rarely get bored in a place like this, sorry.

Of course this can vary by neighborhood in both cities.
That hasnt been my experience at all. People here are very chatty and will tell you their stories without much pressure.

I heard it’s warm, people are friendly, cheap, diverse and etc. But nobody was telling me the bad stuff like how it gets flooded with insects during summer, humidity, extreme extreme boredom, doesn’t actually feel like a city. I couldn’t even make friends there. I also felt like there’s nothing to do there for fun. I spent there like 1 year and decided to come back.

I feel like the only way a person can like Houston is if they grew up there. Anyways, what do you guys think? Boring or fun? I prefer votes from people who moved there but anyone can participate.
My background is also Pakistani. I've been here in Houston since 2003 and no it is not boring if you actually go out and explore. Most South Asians live in suburbs especially Sugar Land and even in suburbs there are things to do besides restaurants. Yes, the COL is definitely low and salary high and that is the main attraction here.

Hot/Warm months: May-Sep. Rest of the year is pleasant and we do we have Winters but they are short. No snow. It's the most diverse in the country ethnically. You should get flood insurance if owning a home. Flood is rare. When it comes to making friends, it is all on your personality regardless of where you are on the planet.
