The closed minded rhetoric will undoubtedly be found in some suburbs. Many were small towns that were just recently swallowed up by the metro. So of course you are going to find insular, closed-minded, Old Gulf South attitudes. A lot of it has to do with people who look different than them, moving into nicer places because they have more money. This is more of a class thing above all else. And thankfully not all suburbs are like this, believe it or not.

On that note, I encourage any of you to ride down OST east of 288, down Griggs towads Gulfgate, bask in the radiance of the inner loop, and shop at some of those local venues there around sunset. You will come across the most racist, ignorant, threatening, and downright stupid things you'll ever hear in your life. But it's not the suburbs so it's ok.

It's funny and ironic the burb bashers who complain about widespread ignorance are the same people who support the enabling welfare programs + keeping our city the sanctuary type.

You too? I was wondering the same myself!

What about what I said was even remotely close-minded or hateful? Do you even know what those words mean?

Sure you're not. Neither is Ross the Intern from the Jay Leno show. I really mean it.

People act as if Houston bashing happens here just because there are people who like to say bad things about this city for no reason...
...but, if you look at the forums for other major cities, you really don't see nearly as much hating

Do you really think you'll get a good representative opinion of Houstons "problems" from this thread? You do realize there are nearly 6 million people in the metro so IF 20 unique people that actually live here respond that represents .0000003% of the populace opinion? I say give up while you are ahead.
