Besides, you simply can not be in a rush for shopping. Shopping is like drinking wine (vs beer), you take your time rather than chug it down. Let me use a dude-analogy, you can not be in a hurry when shopping in a gun or fishing tackle store! We look, compare, fondle, visualize.... It is shopping!
Well said.

So, let me get this straight...a huge retailer moving in that will undoubtedly have employees and customers who may be looking for a quick lunch in the vicinity (ie Tommy's) causes that very same restaurant to close its doors?

You do realize that Belk won't be complete for another 2+ years right? And it's not the current construction is bringing customers in. I'm pretty sure Bridge Street won't waive his rent for 2 years, until Belk is complete, but I guess I could be wrong.

Exactly my point, that restaurant has other problems aside from a retailer being built beside them. Maybe the quality of their food (or lack of) is a good place for the owner to look...

The report specifically cited the construction as the reason they were closing....but I doubt it. I ate there one time and it was OK but not exceptional. The thing I remember most was the chairs. The chairs were like a heavy duty large wire mesh and VERY uncomfortable.
