I'm shocked that both George and Green county Mississippi isn't apart of the MSA they border Mobile and they frequent the city often maybe the 2025 census ? Idk its a possibility. I dont think we(Mobile,Pensacola,Baldwin, and Jackson county) will be one msa in our life time but as a CSA I absolutely see that one day in my life time easily. As of now they all make up a population of around 1.1 million with 45 min of Mobile in normal traffic conditions.

I beleive the Huntsville CSA is currently around 750k ?
I honestly don’t see a lot of Mobile county tags in Pensacola, most of the Alabama tags I see there are from Escambia County (AL), people from Atmore, Flomaton, and Brewton.

I think Escambia County Alabama is apart of there CSA now I think ? Maybe Mobile has more jobs and industry that's why we see more Escambia county Fl tags in Mobile then vice versa ? Idk just an assumption.

Birmingham CSA without tuscaloosa, etowah, and calhoun counties is 1,364,062 as of 2017

With those 3 counties added would be 1,789,356.

Well, if you're going as far as Gadsden you might as well include Atlanta. And we could pick up the Shoals, Tupelo, and Chattanooga up our way.

Come on now. It is what it is. I didn't invent the rule. Those 3 counties believe it or not contribute to the greater birmingham msa area. But go head, tho.

63, 31 and 11 tags says different

I can understand that. The same can be said with with Jackson,Green, and George county Mississippi tags and of course Baldwin here in Mobile. The commuter numbers may not show but I'm sure the eye test says otherwise for the 63,31,and 11 tags in Bham.

The gulf coast is a very unique place, and i can go as far as saying very alienated from the rest of alabama with the exception of the love for football. I believe it is a winnable debate that counties that surround mobile county gravitate towards mobile as the cutural financial and job hub, including the Mississippi counties. The same can be said for pensacola ( escambia fl) and its surrounding counties. That leaves baldwin county, the Fastest-growing county in the state, in the middle. Its only a matter of time until alabama has its first multi state msa or csa ( columbus ga, but it isnt in alabama)

Food for thought: As baldwin county continues to boom and foley continues to develope, a person driving in a car will be able to take highway 98 coming out of mobile, eastbound, and will actually feel like theyre in civilization for the whole ride up until sand destin, fl. Thats like 4 hours lol

That's a good site. Looks like it goes by county instead of actual miles however, but I can't see a way for it to use actual miles.

My sister lives in George County and they go to Mobile for major shopping, medical. What part of Mobile, I don't know.
