Monte Sano's nice, but it's really just a hill!

Don't make a (mole) hill out of a mountain!

Yes - let us all eat with our hands and check out the Contraption O' Death!

I still have that T-shirt somewhere...nice design.

Maybe then I could have Sangria - the wine was quite sweet.

That's EASY, we'll just hire some engineers to plan out a canal that leads to the Gulf and then we can make better use of those gondolas...

Southlander...I have a story about a scenic State Road that ended on a mountain in North Carolina...waaay up there. *Poof* The pavement just stopped and turned to dirt. Ungraded, unprotected...dirt. Just nothing but air, rocks and trees...and a loooong way to the bottom. Alabama considered my husband's PT Cruiser an SUV (cough, cough) and I guess we proved it that day...it kept going and so did we, but, well, our map was wrong. That wern't no real road.

Now THAT was entertainment!

Are all those hip, young people really seeking some place like Gatlinburg? I'm trying to picture the cool, urban club scene...

How about a really good massage parlor with free wi-fi, an ice cream bar, and a service in the back for oil changes, car wash and car wax? Other enhancements: a dry cleaner, a laundry mat, and a hair salon your wife can use while she waits.

I'd also agree that it makes sense for Tuscaloosa to have a wider range of restaurants than retail. College kids like to go out to eat, especially to cheap-moderate places. But you don't have THAT much cash to spend, and when you do, it's less than an hour to drive up to Bham.

Yep, I'm originally from Tuscaloosa and crave Taco Casa quite often.

I also would love to see Urban Outfitters make their way to Bridge Street and yea I've added my input on that petition going around.

I'm also for a Cheesecake Factory, a Qdoba (for my hubby, he loves them) and a Home Goods. Bham and Chattanooga has them, we need them too :P

Thanks for backing me up, here.

Or maybe he means really young people. Children, maybe. Rowdy ones, probably. And their fanny-pack wearing parents. *shudder* That's what I remember about Gatinburg from when I went there as a kid.

I'd much rather have a few jazz and blues clubs (think Beale St in Memphis). I would think that would be much more entertaining. But I guess I'm boring.
