Brad Little would be the next governor of Idaho if this happens.

Yup. Word around Boise is Little is looking to seek the Guv's job in 2018. If Butch takes the Ag Dept., it will help Brad, for sure. Both have served long stretches as Lt. Governors.

Idaho is one of the fastest-growing states – Idaho Business Review

Quote:
Idaho is one of the nation’s fastest-growing states.

New figures released Dec. 20 by the U.S. Census Bureau show that Idaho’s population grew by 7.4 percent from 2010 to 2015. The population of both Idaho and Washington grew about 1.8 percent from July 2015 to July 2016.

Utah and Nevada’s populations grew the fastest, followed by Florida’s.

The Census estimated Idaho’s population at 1.68 million in July. Idaho’s Hispanic population rose from 11 percent to 12 percent between 2010 and 2015, the Census said.

Research from the Idaho Department of Labor shows that Idaho’s population is moving from the rural areas to the more urban areas, a pattern seen in most U.S. states. Much of the growth reported by the Census is happening in the Treasure Valley, home to the state’s largest urban area. COMPASS, the Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho, said the population in the Treasure Valley will increase more than 70 percent by 2040, from just over 600,000 to 1.022 million.

Here's another article about the growth. I wish I could have added it to my previous post but editing a post here is evidently breaking the law.

High Birth Rate, Domestic Migration Result in Idaho Becoming Third-Fastest Growing State in U.S. | Citydesk | Boise Weekly

Quote:
Economists with the Idaho Department of Labor announced Tuesday that the Gem State's population grew by 1.8 percent between mid-2015 and mid-2016—the third strongest percentage increase in the nation and the state's strongest growth rate since 2008.

Idaho's population was pegged at 1,683,140 as of July 1, representing an estimated increase of more than 30,300 residents from the previous 12 months.

Economists said the population growth could be attributed to a combination of a high birth rate and in-migration from other states. Approximately 19,000 people moved to Idaho from states within the U.S. and abroad between mid-2015 and mid-2016. Additionally, Idaho's birth rate—13.7 births per 1,000 women—was ranked seventh highest in the nation.

I think a user has something like 15 minutes to edit a post. After that, it is locked.

However, if you don't tell anybody, let me know what you want and I'll swing my blankie around my shoulders, (oops, I mean put on my Superman cape), and I'll change to what you desire. (Within reason, we're not supposed to delete whole posts, unless it is contrary to the T.O.S.) Send a DM for such requests.

2016 Best-Performing Cities
Where America’s jobs are
created and sustained

http://www.best-cities.org/2016/best...eport-2016.pdf
Quote:
Boise City, ID, ranks 23rd, entering the Top 25 for the first time since 2007.
One-year wage growth ranks 15th and short-term job growth ranks 14th.
These two indicators are growing 1.9 percent and 2.1 percent faster than
the national average, respectively.

Boise City is home to Micron Technology, an employer of 5,000 people and
a leader in semiconductor manufacturing that has helped create Boise City’s
tech sector. Micron has gifted $25 million to Boise State University for a
materials research center. The metro attracts companies such as Paylocity,
which has set up an office in Boise, bringing with it 500 jobs. American
Semiconductor is based in Boise and plans to move its manufacturing
operations to the local tech hub. Cradlepoint, a hardware company based
in Boise, garnered $48 million in funding from Sorenson Capital and employs
about 300 people.

Technology companies make up a large portion of job and wage growth,
but there is a diverse local economy that includes food manufacturing and
health care. Hearthside Food Solutions is opening a facility that will employ
168 people. Distillery equipment manufacturer Corson Distilling hired its
first employee in 2015 and has since grown to 55 people. Albertsons is
headquartered in Boise, employing almost 2,300 people and set to go public
this year. Health care in Boise should see gains in the coming years with
the St. Luke’s expansion getting underway. The overall Boise City health-care
system employs 9,400 people. Boise should continue to see growth in wages
and jobs in the next year.
