Honestly, given where the property is, any kind of structure that close to the lake would be north of $500k in value. My grandparents bought a small cabin on Lake Coeur d'Alene back in the late 60s I think. Then later sold it and bought another one further south in the 70s. The two small/tiny A-frames sitting on the property are 60+ years old and actually drag *down* the value of the property, but the land itself is now worth a pretty penny. I nice new structure like that, with a killer view of the lake is gonna be pricey. Definitely not my definition of 'affordable'.

Default Tidbits

From 2014
Market value land: $192k
Improvement: $48K
Market: $240K
7.8 acres
Taxes: $2276
Owner is listed as an LLC whose address is scrippsnetworks that include HGTV, DIY, FOOD etc.

Some real estate sites had it pegged at $875K probably due to square footage and acreage and being close to Gotham. One had it at $375K. It was at one time 3 lots totaling 33 acres.

The highway runs alongside the lake. There are houses on the lake and the highway separates those houses from the Blog Cabin, which sits on a hill there. So the cabin does not sit directly on the water, but is on a hill which overlooks the lake. It will have a fantastic view!

Here is a link on google maps so you can get an aerial view of the property and surrounding area.

The house in located in the white circle on the right side of the road..

My 1st post here on City-Data, Idaho

I'd like to request you all vote for the "open" shower, and not the glass enclosed one. I currently have a glass enclosed one and it's kind of a pain in the backside to have to squeegee it after each shower.

I don't want one in "my" new cabin!

It is almost 8 acres on the hillside that borders 97. Looking at plans and what they are wanting to do, my professional opinion is its safe to assume that this is going to be 800k home when it is all done,

Mark your calendar for July 14, 2015, when the 2015 DIY Network Blog Cabin virtual home tour launches. Then remember to enter the sweepstakes, twice daily, starting July 27, 2015.

FYI . IF you get to watch the show when you win the property you get 250k...and a car.......seems like that pays lots of taxes..

I LOVE the location. The cabin is beautiful as well but it really is the land that makes this years special.

I'd find a way to make it work if I won, heh.
