Phones have been off and on too. This snow is nasty...heavy, wet and icy.
We were out for 2-3 hours, as you said, it looked like a big one. Couldn't see a light anywhere looking out the window. I hope yours is back on.

Reminds me...I need to get the gas lantern out of storage and do some work on the generator, it hasn't been run since last year...or longer. Given the junk fuel we get these days, I'll probably have to pull the carb down.

Ours went out around 6:30 last night and came back on at about 4:30 this morning. Nice that they have a call-back service to let us know when it came back on.

Wow, sounds like a long cold dark night! Hope you guys all have wood burning stoves. Makes me even more convinced not to get a pellet stove! Take care--the power outages sound like a recurring problem. Happening over in NW Montana, too. Ice on power lines, or what?

When my husband called the power company he said something about the main line from the Bonneville thingy to Norhtern Lights went out. I lost something there in the translation.
We have propane stoves in all the rooms so no problems if power goes out.
It is however, fuh-reaking cold out there, though it's warmed up to 0 degrees. Feeding and watering horses in this weather =

I know it goes without saying for folks who live in the country, but be careful. I responded to a call once where an entire family died from CO poisoning using a propane stove for heat, and that was where it was far less cold.

Thanks for the warning but ours are direct vented with stovepipes just like a woodstove. They look just like woodstoves as well: Jotul Nordic QT Gas Stove

It's wonderful to have each room with it's own stove and thermostat, and beautiful to sleep by firelight.
