Ding-Ding. I have to admit it was a nice little break.

We're moved in to our Kellogg, ID, rental home! Whoo-hoo! Can't wait to get a paycheck...moving is so expensive. Our home is 3 BR's and 1 downstairs bathroom. It is bigger than our last rental house by far and the forced air nat.gas heater works like a champ.

There's two sheds in the back yard and a great chain link fence to keep our two dogs in. Had to change the dryer cord cause it didn't fit the plug-in on the wall, little things to do like that that always go with moving. But we like Kellogg and the surrounding area a lot and have been to Coeur d' Alene already and love it as well.

Clark Fork Fantast-indeed it will take a while to unpack. I start my new job Monday, I hear it's gonna get bitter cold on Monday night, around 1 degree! We love our rental home and so do our animals, the two cats crack me up watching them explore the surroundings.

Man, Lookout Pass is nasty if you hit it right when snow is coming down upon ice that was already there. Our son was driving our 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS with the two cats and hit an icy patch. He said he did a 360 and came to a stop. A semi braked way out ahead to avoid a collision. I didn't see the Lancer's headlights any more behind and told my wife "I can't stop!"

I knew that if I did we would spin the U-Haul's tires too much to get up the hill. Lookout Pass is dangerous under those conditions, you really go up-up-up for a long time! I kept waiting for it to end, but no, it kept going up!

Glad to have that out of the way!

Oh, that must have been a scary ride! It might have been less hair-raising, going up 95. Oh well, you're where you belong now, and everybody is safe, and that's the main thing. Good luck in your new job!

Hey. You leave my peepers alone. Spring comes with them!
I really miss seeing the ground. So sick of snow.

Rabbits! Does anybody else say "Rabbits" on the first of every month? Don't know where the tradition comes from, but supposedly it has to be the first thing you say on the first, and you have to beat others to it. Oh, the pressure!

I've never heard of "Rabbits!", but it sounds like something my girls would have liked.
When they were young we used to chant from Sendak's "Chicken Soup with Rice" on the first day of the month.
Here's February:

In February it will be
My snowman’s anniversary
With cake for him and soup for me!
Happy once, happy twice, happy chicken soup with rice.

I miss when my kids were little!
