The ospreys are back in their nest in Sandpoint! I'm on my cellphone, so I can't do a search and find the Osprey webcam thread, so maybe somebody else can revive the thread with the link? Osprey in nest right now!

I bumped the Osprey thread back up to the top with a link to the cam.

I was in the area last week, having brought the first load of our stuff up to the house in Sagle. I spent a few days painting and doing some other things around the house in preparation for our move in mid-May. The weather was just glorious last week - short sleeve T-shirt weather during the day on Wed and Thurs.

We received a nice offer for our house in SoCal while I was gone after just having the first open house last weekend, so barring any unforeseen events it looks like we've sold our house down here. Yeah!

Back in SoCal now where the serious packing begins.

Dave

Default Clark Fork

Sorry about the huge pix, Im experimenting with posting pictures...will figure out how to make them smaller. Anyways.... So we went exploring a few weeks ago, drove around Lake Pend Orielle and ended up in Clark Fork. Very small town, reminds me of Mayberry RFD, I absoulutely loved it. We ate at Hogflatz. It was OK; later everyone said we shouldve tried The Pantry). Im wondering if anyone knows what these posts over the river were for. Old tracks? Old road? They looked intriguing.

I'm glad you asked! We've been told those posts were for controlling the lumber being sent downstream from Montana to the mills in Sandpoint. They're probably also good for getting a quick read on the water level. One of my favorite spots along the river.

Hogflatz has a good breakfast, and until the new family restaurant opens by the Clark Fork Lodge (when?), it's the only family restaurant in town. The Pantry has wonderful sandwiches, fresh bread and pastry, all day long. Last year they spiffed up the patio. Plus you can count on getting a cell signal there!
