While slashing the cost of welfare for illegals, educating illegal children, insurance claims due to uninsured illegals, incarcerating illegals, feeding illegals and fighting crime due to illegals. The American people will gladly pay an extra 75 cents for a head of lettuce if they don't have to worry about the numerous troubles that illegal aliens bring with them anywhere they go.
No those systems are base on exploiting migrants, prices of everything will double. Take a ride down to your nearest meat packing plant or poultry plant and watch the change of shifts. Those used to be Union jobs now they are migrant jobs. Doubling the cost of all food products is a conservative estimate

b-b-b-b-b-but it'll be a workers' paradise, with all of those union jobs opening up.

BILLIONS of dollars are spent in this country supporting illegal immigrants and their families, everything from education to incarceration is paid for by the US tax payers. These people are a massive burden on our social services and our country in general, that's a proven fact. The price of food would not double but if it did we would still be financially ahead based on the money we would save money in the long run because we wouldn't be supporting these leaches any more.

Unions care more about getting their Democrat leaders elected than the union members that pay for it to happen, if Unions cared about their members they would fight against illegal immigration like a cancer... instead they condone it while blaming everyone on the right. Unions support politicians who ignore our immigration laws which in turn eliminate the "good union jobs" that their members used to have... then they ***** about losing jobs.

what percentage of the cost of a pound of beef/chicken/lettuce goes to labor costs?
if you can't answer those questions, how can you possibly make a valid estimate?

You don't honestly think the pro-illegal crowd cares about valid estimates do you?
These people care about one thing, Democrat votes. They'll do anything to push a pro-amnesty agenda which would lead to large gains in votes for Democrats.

nope. i'm going for the embarassment factor here

it's amazing how quickly they'll toss away all those other principles they supposedly hold dear in order to do just that: workers rights/wages, rule of law, etc.
and then try to disguise it all by hollering about how food prices will rise..
The price of food wouldn't double if illegals were replaced by higher wage earning citizens. That labor is just a small part of the price you pay for the product. The farm, distributor and retail all contribute to the price you pay at the grocery store. Cars produced in non-union factories in the US do not sell for half of what cars built in union factories cost because labor is just a part of the end price of the product.
I'd think that raising the cost of food a small percentage so that more blue collar workers could make a living wage would be a great incentive that the left would support. Allowing immigrants to flood across our border and drive down wages for legal citizens is just another aspect of how illegal immigrants are damaging this country.
