Oh come on now. We only have 11-12 million illegals here. That's a number they have been feeding us since 2003.
1986 if you want to go back to Reagan's amnesty..they estimated 3 million but it was actually 12 million.
No actually. The very concept of illegal immigration is only as recent as the WW2 era. Illegals had the most freedom in all administrations prior to WW2, when it was allowed for them to work without any documentation needed or travel freely. Actually strike that, migrants had the most freedom. As I said, the concept of illegal or legal migrant didn't exist at the time and the border was literally just a line in the dirt in most regions; with the exception of war time.
It's only after WW2 that wartime migration controls were maintained and the concept of illegal immigration was born.
Thanks for the background/history lesson. I'm more concerned about what is going on in the present and the failure of this current administration ignoring the laws in place regarding illegal immigrants and using them to drag down the middle class and the economy.
But hey, that's part of his master plan. He wants a society that has two classes: one small rich class (of which he will belong) and the massive poor class, which will be you, me, illegals, and pretty much the middle class that he is working very hard to erase. All part of his "equality" program. When we are all poor, we will all be equal.

Yup, there were 9 million hiding in the shadows then. Can only imagine how many are hiding in the shadows now. I guess we will find out when Obama grants them amnesty.

It is important to know the past. It shows us that illegal immigration's problem lays not in the act of migration itself, but in the welfare system. Illegal migration was a non-issue before FDR, and his New Dealers, began to institute their welfare state. There was an incentive for people to migrate here to work in the past, but there wasn't any to receive welfare benefits. Namely because there was no state welfare to leech off. Nor was it needed to illegal enter the country since the migration process was simple and easy (with the exception of the poor Chinese). If our current migration system had been in place back then many Germans and Irish would have had to come over illegally. In fact, we do have a substantial number of illegal Irish aliens in New England because of our current migration system.
You are correct. Obama is a statist that wishes to destroy the middle class and institute a two tier caste system: members of the party and the proles. His pandering to migrants, net tax recipients (i.e. occupiers), and others are to this end.
The brilliance in it all though is how the political elite have divided us in such a manner to weaken our position to counter them. Immigrants, legal or illegal, are not inherently evil. It is Obama, FDR, and everyone in between that has set up our institutions in order to create what are effectively second-class residents. The focus should not be in stopping migration. It is in destroying the welfare state. Destroy that and the rest of the problems become moot. As long as we fight among ourselves and fail to realize our common enemy though we are doomed to failure.

^^^^This.
Add to the mix racism, which further divides us as a nation. If C-D is any indication, it is alive and well and currently doing better than a few years ago. People wonder how Sunni Arabs and ****e Arabs living in the same country kill each other. Different religions, one country. This is no different as to what is being done in the US. When did the poor or middle class of this country ever resent those who succeeded and were considered "rich"? This is Obama's "divide and conquer".
I have no problem with LEGAL migration. It is the ILLEGALS that I have a problem with. The anti-illegal sentiment is at the level it is because it is the creation of government. Government panders to, caters to, protects a group of people who have no right to be in this country and who are a drain on our economy. Government turns a deaf ear and a blind eye and has no interest in what citizens want - which is for the government to follow the law, not re-write it or ignore it.
Obama sure does alot of trolling stirring up the nation.
