Open borders with our generous welfare and unemployment handouts is utterly stupid. That is about making the USA into the flophouse of the world.

Essentially no one has to compete when only desperate illegals take jobs that pay significantly less than welfare handouts provide. Stupid to pay millions of Americans to never work while the third workd pours over the border to both work and/or get in in the handouts.

The liberatarian argument for unlimited third world immigration doesn't work for our huge welfare state.

Okay, first get the minimum wage and also food stamps, medicaid, unemployment checks and other welfare programs shut down. AFTER and only after that we can talk about unlimited immigration of the most impoverished kind of immigrants.

I believe that everyone should be able to travel freely, without the need of documentation, borders or checkpoints, and the ability to work freely and legally in any country without the requirement of additional bureaucracy such as the current visa process.
Oh brother, not another erase all borders argument. A country without borders ceases to be a country at all. This kind of thinking has been thoroughly trashed in here before by common sense and logic over and over. So I will leave it at that. You'd be hard pressed to find many citizens of any country that would desire the erasure of their sovereign borders and for the obvious reasons. Well it's obvious to those who can think anyway.

And no, European countries do not have an open border system as you have described.

We don't already have other cultures from all over the world living here? Whom are we missing? The USA shouldn't be able to retain its identifying culture and language but should have it diluted even more? Why aren't you suggesting that Mexico have unlimited immigration from all over the world so that they lose their identity as a Hispanic nation and the Spanish language?

As for the rest of your post I am truly speechless.

Uh; even Schengen Europe DOES have closed borders with places like Ukraine, Romania, Turkey and so on. If those countries don't like Schengen's rules; then they need to clean up their acts. Mexican needs to clean up its act BEFORE it can even dare ask for an open border with the US.

Uh; LOWER wages? How about going after the 1 percenters 1st? Like the big biz CEO's??

Multicultural? Really? Except for language; MOST middle class people in the world have the same morals. ILLEGAL aliens ARE usually LOW class and ALL are lawbreakers any where in the world.

Your hating on US citizens who CAN'T "better themselves" is an insult right there. Better they do low skill honest work than rob and assault people to survive. Sheesh!

You must not have any descendants. If you did, you would want to leave something better for them than a country that has descended into third world status with 1 billion people and not enough potable water.

I plan on having kids. I plan on leaving them a better America.

Within the next 10 years, you will have most of the Eastern block within the Schengen area, Romania entered this year as well.

Mexico does need to sort itself out, esp. with all those organized criminals and drug cartels, but I feel it's morally incorrect to deny people coming from that area the access to jobs and education.

Well...if it is done your way, it won't be a "better America". Why can't you understand that?

--------------------

Then you say this:

but I feel it's morally incorrect to deny people coming from that area the access to jobs and education.

Really? We, as a nation, owe illegal aliens nothing. Also, we, as a nation, can't take in the entire third world without descending into third world ourselves.

If they come here legally, then no one is going to deny them "access to jobs and education".

Since your heart bleeds for them so much, then you move to "that area" and volunteer your time and money to help them.

I'm not hating on US citizens who can't pick up a book and do something different. I just feel no pity for them.
