Let's think about this. Is it the undocumented workers who are ruining the industry or the people doing the hiring? The people doing the hiring are paying lower wages, and getting the better deal. One thing that happens in Dallas (and I know you're a fellow north Texan), they pick up workers at Home Depot (or wherever), after a days work they may or may not pay the workers fairly, knowing that these guys can't fight them on it. The whole system is horrible. It used to be that manual laborers could make a living (even if very meek) because people were actually paying them at least minimum wage.

Loads of them have fake socials and do pay income. I'm not saying that's OK, it's not.

They do that when they take a job that requires a social security number -- such as a job in a factory or store or hospital. Then they commit felony document fraud and identity theft --- but don't worry -- illegals are smart enough to declare as many exemptions as they can so that little or no FICA tax is taken out. And they know that declaring many exemptions will get them an EITC check at income tax time.

Yes -- and it actually makes it less likely businesses will bring in people legally --- why go through the costs of sponsoring workers? Just hire illegals. It makes it more difficult for those honest business which would not only pay a decent wage but also would legally sponsor an immigrant.

I used to be that illegals would do just the work on the lower rung of the ladder. Over the last twenty years its been more. Lots of good paying jobs that Americans have always been doing are being lost to illegals. Most professionals and white collar workers have been blind to the rise in jobs being lost. The jokes will be on them when the children of these illegals educated in American schools soon take their jobs. Oh wait a minute its all ready happening...

Yes, and they will also be competing with the kids of citizen parents that were born here. It just increases the supply of labor in an already lean job market.

And this is why we need a moratorium on work-based and family-based immigration ASAP, indefinitely. Spouses, minor children, and genuine refugees/asylum seekers only.

The employers and their illegal workers are equally to blame. Illegal aliens aren't the innocents in all of this they know right from wrong also. Democrat businessmen also hire illegal aliens. It isn't just those who are Republicans. I disagree that illegal aliens are here to stay. Americans have had enough of this nonsense and the crap is about to hit the fan. Wait and see....

I hope that you're correct, Oldglory.
