here come the excuses....."Reagan said it was a mistake"...but he said verbatim:

It is. THAT bozo was a disgrace to the office. Of course the Dems did nothing either and are now trying to take advantage. Let's be fair here.

It's funny how this is such a fact based forum until the facts go against your agenda then it becomes an excuse based forum.
Ok - Eisenhower's administration implemented "operation *******" to severely curb illegal immigration from Mexico in the 1950's - so that is conservative policy.

The fact Reagan did something 30 plus years ago that many view as a mistake does not justify a democrat now wanting to do the same thing by executive order several magnitudes worse.

That's just stupid logic.

Agreed. Obama's def the POTUS in 2014 so it's on him. Not Bush 43. Not Clinton. Not Bush Senior. Not Reagan and so on.

It's not stupid logic, immigration hasn't changed in 30 years. The GOP refuses to work with Obama...the "do nothing" Republicans strike again unlike the Dems with Reagan.

Obama has no other alternative but to act alone and re-implement the Reagan policy.

If Republicans weren't OBSTRUCTIONISTS, he wouldn't have to take action on his own. Congress is a joke, particularly the House GOP. They simply cannot do their jobs. They're so stupid that they can't see that to do their jobs, compromise is needed.

Let the GOP and their constituents tell it, NO compromise should take place. I cannot believe all of the people on this forum who are mad because the President wants to do something that Congress can't, it should be a positive reaction not a negative one. You all are brainwashed.

Illegal immigration has increased significantly from 30 years ago. Obama wants to implement another amnesty that was a failure first time around because all it did was to encourage more illegal immigration. We have at the very least quadruple the number since Reagan signed the last one. If the Republicans refusing to go along with another amnesty is "doing nothing" then I'm all for it because it solves nothing. Obama has other alternatives but he doesn't want them because they don't include deporting illegal aliens back to their countries and really securing our border this time around. Even the proposed e-verify wouldn't go into law for 5 years and it would only be applied to new hires not illegal aliens already working here. We want real solutions not another band aid on this problem.

Congress never had any intention of turning them all into refugees seeking asylum.
Congress never had any intention of sending planes down there to fly them to the US.

Nobody is bringing a real solution. Not Reagan, Not Bush x2, Not McCain, Not Romney..etc. This is definitely not on Obama for doing SOMETHING.

That's because Congress has no intentions AT ALL to deal with this...ever. ESPECIALLY under Obama!

Well...I, for one, am glad that the republicans are refusing to work with Obama when it comes to amnesty for illegals.

Did you know that when GW Bush, a republican in case you didn't know, pushed for amnesty, the switchboard on Capitol Hill, along with the fax machines crashed? That happened because people were letting them all know loudly and clearly that they didn't want amnesty for illegals.

As for republicans being "do nothing" --- Harry Reid has continually refused to bring house bills up for a vote in the senate.

Haven't you figured it out yet? Neither party is composed of saints.
