I see this totally differently. I don't think he cares about the illegals at all. But if he does some broad over-reaching Executive Order and angers enough Republicans, the talk of impeachment might grow.

Then the Democratic Party can start their "see, the Republicans are racist" right in time for the November mid-terms and hope to get a sweeping Democratic victory.

It's not about the people. It's just about (yet another) election.

I hope you're right and people will see the "race card" as a big scam.

I love that this is a Democrat issue when it was your boy Republican Reagan that used the same solution to this problem.

He also did nothing to protect the border or stop the inflow of illegal immigrants.

here come the excuses....."Reagan said it was a mistake"...but he said verbatim:

Quote:
“I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally,” Ronald Reagan

Did we impeach Reagan? No.

He set the precedent... amnesty is a conservative policy.

Nobody gets a pass on this. Stupid idea regardless of which "side" does it.

Oh I believe Reagan got a pass.

Quote:
His diaries show an emotional discomfort with militarized borders with Mexico. He met with the President of Mexico to try to discuss ways to do something better with the border then to turn it into a fence. Reagan was concerned about a fence, while the recent crop of would-be-Reagans spout nonsense about walls with moats topped by electrified fences.
Same old rhetoric in 2014 as in 1986 ^^^. This problem has gone nowhere in nearly 30 years... that's not Obama's fault.

I have a feeling he is going to declare them all refugees seeking asylum.
I think that is how he will go around the immigration laws because he cannot EO amnesty outright otherwise he would have done it already.

I've also read that the WH is working with the State Dept and they are the ones that control refugee/asylum numbers for the US.

And once granted asylum, refugees can immediately sign up and qualify for welfare.
I think that is an important piece as well because they are uneducated in these central American countries.
Only 30% of their population make it to 6th grade. Only 85% of the population has physical access to schools.
They will not be able to survive here without welfare benefits.

In the first place Reagan was not "my boy". I never liked him and didn't vote for him.

As for Reagan and amnesty---old news. He never should have passed it. Plus, he was lied to by the dems who promised that the border would be secured and that no illegals will ever be able to find work.

Yeah, Reagan said it was "a mistake". So what? Those were words that were too little too late.

Haven't you figured it out yet? Neither party is looking out for Americans.
