According to polls most Democratic Voters do not think that illegal immigration is an important issue. It is like 8th on their list in importance and many of them want the issue to just go away and keep the borders open. Among Republican voters it is the number one or two issue.

Being a life long Democrat and against illegal immigration, I am trying to understand the people who share a Democratic viewpoint. Why are many if not most Democrats for an open border and amnesty while most republicans for stricter border security (except Wall Street Republicans like George Bush)?

I would like to hear from fellow Democrats mostly.

It has a lot do do with education. The most educated states in the nation are always blue and red states are usually uneducated and backwards overall speaking. Like I said, if you are uneducated and live in a red state, chances are, you will feel much more threatened by people that have an average 5th grade education and often do not even speak English well. Also, people in red states are more likely to be brainwashed by the "military" type of BS and tend to be open to your "FOX News" type of patriotic brainwash propaganda. The most educated states in the nation are MA, CO, CT, MD, VA, NJ, VT, MN, NH and DC. None of those are overwhelmingly red states. Essentially, it is a mixture of ignorance and lack of education.

If it was not for Boulder, Colorado would probably be an uneducated red state as well. Right now, it may as well be 50/50 but not overwhemingly a red state.

For someone that keeps harping on “education” ……. Let’s just say you could use some real world education. That being said, I do enjoy seeing you make an a$$ of yourself.

Funny, I feel the same way about the Republicans. You honestly don't believe that half of the Country is rich do you? The rest of the Republicans after the 10% rich are backwoods types who want their rifles and want to make sure we keep gettin dem AArabbs. Lastly, if we did a poll of poor dumb Ku Klux Klan followers how many do you think would be Republican?

Actually, I have nothing against Republicans. I mean, if you are a big business owner or a CEO of a Fortune 500 company, I can understand why you would vote Republican, I mean, no other party will stand up for the rights of the wealthy and powerful like the GOP. Now, Bubba living in a trailer and voting Republican is kinda ignorant.

Let me ask you this: Are you suggesting that all big business owners, and all CEO's of Fortune 500 companies, all vote Republican? That they are Republicans (registered)?

If either, or both, of the above are your positions, would you please provide some sort of links/backups - something, to backup your position?

Thanks
