Anyone remember that Puerto Rico had to invalidate their birth certificates because of the overwhelming amount of identity theft and fraud committed against Puerto Ricans?

Puerto Rican Birth Certificates Invalid After July 1 | NBC New York

I read an article on line recently that claimed the IRS knows people are using fake or stolen SS numbers to work and pay taxes but the IRS doesn't care. Go figure. I agree with you on e-verify it will prevent the above from happening.

Didn't Melania Trump work in NYC illegally?
Maybe her citizenship should be revoked on the basis of her lying on her application, and then swiftly deported.

I believe all ILLEGAL immigrants should be deported and then allowed back in through the legal system in place in the US. I believe illegal immigrants have such a huge negative effect on our economy, many sending their earnings to families in their own countries which takes that money out of circulation. I believe employers should be penalized in some way for employing illegal immigrants, despite their cries of not being able to afford payroll. We fight the war on drugs and other issues of underground economy, and this is probably the worst.

They have shown this time and time and time and time again, on a multitude of issues. They will NEVER be satisfied with a limited exception to deportation. They want it all, and can't be believed when discussing the issue. They operate out of pretense and dishonesty. So---NO exceptions. All illegals out now.

(My wife is a LEGAL alien. And the major reason I say the above is that I value a little thing known as "the rule of law". Oh, and I'm a licensed clinical social worker.....).
Well, okay.

I have two questions:

Who is going to actually work for free in the fields so that we don't pay market price for food?

And the other question is, what are we going to do about that giant statue in the Atlantic just off NYC? It seems somewhat hypocritical to keep it there.

Unless they can prove they had five years of verifiable employee payment and tax returns showing they were 125%+ above the poverty line in earnings without ever accessing government for themselves or children.

I could live with future self sustaining residents, problem is if lucky 5% meet the immigration 125%+ law requirement.

Dems already screwed you on that. Fast food is already up 200% and will get higher when your paper boy, dish washer and office worker all make the same $15 an hour minimum wage by law.

You by law would have to pay illegals that as well.

Getting close to where John McCain may work those fields.

In my opinion it still doesn't matter. Illegal based on our current laws is illegal, no different than committing a crime of any sort that's illegal - you get punished. Since an illegal alien has no rights in the U.S., can't really punish them other than send them back to their country. Let them return the legal way, with whatever system is in place at the time. Just like everybody getting all huffy with Trump winning the electoral college and not the popular vote. It's the system in place and he won with that system.

The giant statue was the place where you had to pass your medical. No TB and such.
There was also no social programs/welfare then that allowed those thst failed to remain here in failure.

I will buy your high and mighty view for America if you agree to cut off all services and monies for anyone or any children not here with an American citizen or legal resident parent.

But our entire agricultural industry relies on not having to pay them minimum wage. That's why they are "illegals". If they were "legal", our agricultural industry would have to pay much higher wages.

So you still need to get back to me on that one.

Also, explain to me how you recognize that minimum wage is responsible for rising prices in fast food, but expect that legal American labor will not do the same.

I don't eat fast food, and a 200% increase in the cost of food would not affect me at all. I have a feeling it would be quite different for you, however.
