It seems pretty point blank that activities like entering a country illegally should be an enforced punishable act. Just deport them. Everyone regardless of political affliction etc should support that. Yet some people are mad about this for some reason? These people tend to twist illegal and legal immigration, racism is often brought up, or they mention that the illegals are doing all the jobs the Americans don't want to do or are too lazy. None of these ideas really make sense, so it seems to me like some just want illegals here to act as serfs.

There are a few motives that many people have for wanting them here. One is to hire them for profit, more Democrat voters by making them citizens and those who have ethnic ties to them. All self-serving and anti-American.
The US economy today rests on the flimsy bedrock foundation of cheap imported goods from slave wage labor nations, and illegals filling in on shore for the stuff that can't be imported (so easily). Corporations and government worked together to stick it to the worker long and hard, which is why they hold an ever declining share of the pie.
Democrats have been pandering to the illegals for years, and have tried their best to shield them from criticism by lumping them together with legal immigrants. Whenever someone brings up the issue of illegal immigration, democrats just suggest that person hates all immigrants and leaves the discussion at that. That's the only reason it might seem "controversial" to some... Because of democrat politically correct culture and language.
Because the federal government refuses to enforce the laws concerning illegal immigration. And they refuse to stand by their constitutional duty to protect the American citizenry from foreign invasion.
For whatever reasons, people with power and influence want what's happening to happen. That's why it happens.

Securing the border is considered "racist" according to the left. But all "racist" means to the left is anything that goes against the globalist agenda. In reality, leftists and their policies are racist as hell. The whole premise behind "racial equity" for example is that minorities lack the capacity to thrive in a society where they must coexist alongside white people. Leftists are the ones pushing that idea of racial inferiority, while calling their opposition "racist" when republicans advocate for secure borders. And the absolute irony in all of this is, open borders directly harms African American mino666rity communities the most.
The democrat part is a wrecking ball that has laid waste to large swaths of the US economy as well as countless minority communities across America. It's becoming more and more obvious to the American people now that democrats have solidified control and power... And yet, the situation continues to deteriorate. Tick tock lefty... Problem is that no one knows what their planning with dropping global fertility. We are already below the population replacement of 2.1 in the Americas. Though pro growth is their defining mantra.

I don't see a decreasing population in the U.S. as a bad thing but the elite want their cheap workers so they are importing the poor from other countries (mostly illegally) for that and want them to give birth our on soil for more future cheap laborers. We will have a society of the rich and the poor no middle class in the futue.
