NEVER FORGET that fateful phrase that was spoken by Barack Obama...."we're going to fundamentally change America". He got the plan in motion, and Hillary was supposed to put the icing on the cake, but some people got wise and voted for Trump. (and THAT'S why the left is SO against Trump....he'll destroy their plan to kill America, as we've known it for the last 100 years!!!)
U.S. taxpayers spend $182 billion annually on illegal immigration, averaging $1,156 per American.
In December alone, 276,000 people were detained at the border, a new high.
Amid rising inflation, the financial impact of over 15 million migrants is increasingly felt nationwide.
Indeed, as those costs are thrown at the population to absorb, it really impacts we retirees, as many of us don't get "raises" in our monthly pension checks. I retired 15 years ago, and my employer had a defined pension plan, HOWEVER, the amount it paid me in 2008, is the same that I'm getting in 2023, and the COL has dramatically increased.
I fully understood that my food, utilities, and gasoline costs would rise, somewhat, over time, and I took that into account. But I certainly didn't expect or want to have to support a whole bunch of other people, too!!!

I don't mind helping out our truly needy Americans but I resent having my taxes going towards the upkeep of illegal aliens.

They weren't detained, they were processed and released with a request to show up at a later date for a hearing to determine if they are eligible to remain in the country. When that happens the radicals leftists will say 'but they've been here for 8 or 10 or 15 years already so they deserve to stay here'.

Yep, they think if these illegals managed to evade the law for years or are asylum seeker that have been here for years but didn't show up for their hearings they should be allowed to stay here. WTH? What kind of a message does that send to the rest of them in their homelands wanting to do the same thing?
