Some folks work 3 and 4 jobs to survive and provide for their children. For older adults its hard to learn a second lanuage. Now, do they speak it fluenty...maybe not. The subject is building a nation from the ground up in its early stages. It was mostly white Europeans, blacks and some asians who did that. What does Katrina have to do with that? All Americans have cleaned up after major disasters throughout our history.

The issue is not Latinos, Hispanics, or any other ethnic group. We are discussing illegal immigration. If you cannot defend illegal aliens without conflating them with Hispanic citizens of this country, you clearly have no basis for your argument.

Most Mexicans who come here legally tend to assimilate rather quickly. Illegals from that nation tend to be the bottom feeders even back home------which is Mexico's problem-----------not ours.
