I do agree I have lived in IL for 15 years I don't remember snow in Sept

Yes, but I gotta tell you I can remember many Halloween nights when the kids had to wear coats to stay warm.

September is the best month of the year for Illinois period. I do not recall ever having snow in September. Maybe once every few years it will snow at the very end of October but that is RARE. Also, I don't believe Illinois EVER had a windchill of -80 degrees (I think -40 would be the coldest).

First off to whoever said Texas is expensive, they are wrong. Probably one of the lowest taxed stated in the nation, and very low cost of living. Housing where I am from (Corpus Christi) averaged around $60,000 for a good size ranch, and you could afford a bigger home with several acres of land for the low $100,000's.

I live in Illinois currently, but will be moving either to a different part of Illinois, or out of state altogether to escape mostly the people. There are too many people living in this area of Illinois, and I can't stand that. I don't mind populated areas, just not traffic jams in the fking suburbs.

I hate the taxes. Ridiculous. I hate the weather. It isn't as horrible as people say, but winters here aren't that fun.

I prefer to live near woods and hills, streams, etc. I am a very outdoor type person, and Illinois does not offer much of that without driving.

Take me with you. I head out to Romeoville like 2x a week to go to Bass Pro Shops. I too like nature and the outdoors.

I think that'd be Bolingbrook you are talking about, and yeah I think that place is a bigger dump than Romeoville, haha. Look up a place called Swallow Cliff online for a great hiking location.
