I was having a bad day but am glad I vented here. No hard feelings fellow hoosiers.
Unfortunately, the main person who's feathers would get ruffled is banned. Sorry.

I have to agree with you here. Indy isn't so much car-friendly as it is car-required.

UMM, Atlanta metro has over 6 million to Indys, 1.7
So naturally traffic is going to be worse, Atlanta has heavy rail at least.

Come down to Bloomington and you'll be lucky to make $13 an hour with a bachelor's degree. I deal with the worst customers on the face of the Earth down here and only make a crappy $10 an hour. I have a degree and can't wait to leave this place. The only job I have been able to find in this crap hole of a town makes me want to start drinking.

Where are you working? If you have a degree and only make $10/hr, then I'm guessing that you haven't found a job that has anything to do with your field.

One of my children lives there. Sadly, I have to agree about the jobs available and the pay. The volume
of students (43,000) and many from out of state fill a void with some companies and organizations in
order to volunteer and put that on their resumes.
No problem finding places to drink for cheap, tons of bars. Nice that they also put in meters too,
since some students who actually need to work, now have to pay $60.00 a month (for a sticker
and still try to find a metered place to park).

Default Indy's car dependency issue...

Based on my experience as a minimalist here since 2010, the Indygo Transit System in it's current state is satisfactory during normal business hours. Car DEPENDENCY is overstated during those time frames. However, I find Indygo inadequate for those who need service between the hours of 9 and 11pm. Perhaps more people may be willing to attend sporting and/or entertainment events that end during those hours if there were more transportation options, even if it's just for seasonal purposes...just a thought.

CoonMoon said: "state Republicans kill light-rail bills. Can't fix stupid."

The mass transit bill introduced earlier this year came from the Republicans. Its chief sponsor was a Republican from Carmel.

Indy is one of the most sparsely-populated large cities in the US, making rail transport an idiotic waste of money.

Indiana/Indianapolis is not known for being Green in any manner. IDEM is a joke, they are a pawn for big industry polluters. They allow logging on old growth forest (on what few trees Indiana has). Indiana is one of the top states for the most polluted air and water.

If you're a person that believes in conservation and protection of our environment, this is the last place you want to live.

Indianapolis' particle polluted is no worst than most major U.S. cities and it's ozone pollution is better than most.
