I am paying for a service, you come along and use my service without my permission or even telling me you are using it...

That's sneaky, that's underhanded and it's wrong....

Not to even mention like tek says, your connection to my wireless router is not automatic, you have to manually have configured your system to do it...

Then set up security. Why is that such a big problem?

You're the one who talks like you know it all. If you're too stupid to put a password on it then it's too bad for you.

Post #48 does not in any way change my point.

Calling me names just makes you look like a kindergartner. I'm sure it's some kind of violation of CD's rules.

WHOOOOOSHHHHHHH3 as the point sails right over your head.....

I'd tell you to review post #48 again but the point I'm making has sailed right over your head twice already so doing it again would be a waste of time....

know-it-all

You're right. I don't think so.

In this context forcing would be breaking a password or mac address protection.
Do you have that sort of protection on your wifi?

Again... don't want the neighbors dog to drink the water coming out of your hose? Turn off the tap.
The onus is on the party in control of the valve.

As to loss.... the ONLY injured party, and even that only marginally, is the ISP.
The neighbor with an open wifi suffers no costs or loss from sharing.

And you are wrong. You are forcing the connection because you have not been invited, or given permission, to use the connection.

Connect to your neighbors WiFi, download some kiddie porn, and see who gets hurt.

As for adding a password you assume that everyone knows how to do this when, if you're as smart as you seem to think you are, you should know that there are more computer illiterate people out there then there are those who know how to add protection. Just because you feel it's okay to take advantage of them doesn't make it right.

The words are: Morals and Ethics. Perhaps the WalMart nearest you sells those.

WHOOOOOSHHHHHHH

I assume nothing. But I do know the info on how is in the manual the router came with.
Read it. Whoooosh!

You are forcing the connection because...
Do you understand the concept of "default setting"?
Nothing is forced when that connection is open and available. Whooosh!

ETA: You just attempted to move the goalposts by introducing illegal activities on the connection.
No one is condoning illegal activities whether on a free open wifi or any other connection.
Try to stay on the topic of the connection itself. Can you do that?
