I am picking up some commodity stocks, putting more money into my stable value fund in my 401K. I am betting on a downturn soon.

I just switched about 3% from equities into bank loans, in a vain attempt to reduce exposure from an impending downturn. For those without access to a legitimate stable value fund, I doubt there will be a safe harbor from the next storm, and even if there was, the average person won't be in a position to know what it is before it is too late to sail for it.
