Considering what you've said you're looking for - I'd probably look at rentals in the area of the St. Johns Town Center (which is in Duval County):
St. Johns Town Center
There are a lot of large complexes (both apartments and condos) in that area (although I'm not personally familiar with any of them). If you google "St. Johns Town Center rentals" - you should be able to find some places that look promising.
We don't have any world class museums here IMO. Some decent ones. It would be a pretty easy drive from the Town Center area to most of them on weekends (very little traffic).
We have lots of chain shopping.
What's a "happening" (I knew what they were when I was younger - but don't know what they are today)? Robyn
